Vigil in the Night...

The familiar shades of black and white...
A hospital...
at night...
in the isolation wing....
a young nurse fights to keep life in a small pox victim.
The victim is a boy, possibly 7 more likely 5....
Other children watch the drama...
the fight for life...
There are 20 children in all...
but the nineteen lives saved will seem insignificant if there is one fatality.
The Thermometer reads 102*...
She changes the icy cold cloths....
104*.....
She enjects him with medicine...
106*....
she heads for another cloth...
and the boy's chest stills.....
She will not lose this child...
the oxygen tanks are deplated from saving other lives that day...
so she uses her own breathe to force life back into the boy....
...and when the sun rises she carries a living boy to the window to wave at his anguished parents.

You are a Child of God!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Friday....An adventure is Waiting

So on Friday- I can't eat...

Then I'm going to get poked with a needle which I've never liked as it is....

Then I'm going to get all my wisdom removed...

after which I will surely feel groggy....ill.....tired

but hopefully I will stay awake long enough to get a pain reliever in me,

and hopefully my mouth will not decided it doesn't want stitches holding it together.

Well, we will see what happens-

So, do all the variables define an Adventure....or Life?
