After watching Cranford and Foyle's war recently, Susie, Lyd and I were talking about how it seems that the BBC costume actors just switch characters and put on a new movie. So I decided to do that 'Connect Actors through their movies' mind test while cleaning house today. The Goal I set for myself was this:
Sophie Thompson to Emma Thompson.
For those of you who don't have an IMDB quoting sister, Sophie and Emma are sisters.
Here is what I came up with:
Sophie was Mary in Persuasion.
Ciran Hinds (Wentworth) was in Persuasion and Amazing Grace. (Tarlton)
Bill Paterson (Scottish MP) Amazing Grace and Wives and Daughters (Mr. Gibson)
Barbara Flynn (Miss Browning) Wives & Daughters and Cranford (genteel lady)
Greg Wise (Sir John) Cranford and Sense and Sensibility (Willoughby)
Emma was Elinor in Sense & Sensibility.
Also I Decided to link Our Mutual Friend to Our Mutual Friend!! (Hey, I had three hours)
I got:
Lizzie/ Cynthia .....Roger/Milner (Foyle's War)....Sarah/Jane.....Bingley/Dr. Harrison(Cranford)...Jessie Brown/Maria Mason (Horatio's Wife).....Bush/Eugene Wrayburn (that's the short cut that I just thought of) and this is the original
Jessie Brown/Maria Mason...Horatio Hornblower/William Wilberfore (Amazing Grace)....Scottish MP/Dr. Gibson (Wives & Daughters)....Miss Browning/Mrs Ridd (Lorna Doone)....Leader of the Doones/ Mr. Boffin!!!
It's rather fun :) Want to try it? Comment and tell me what you come up with :)

Fun! I do this all the time in my head.
How about Robin Hood to Robin Hood in five steps?
Richard Armitage, Robin Hood (Sir Guy) and North and South (Thornton)
Anna Maxwell Martin, North &South (Betsy)and Bleak House(Esther)
Carey Mulligan, Bleak House (Ada Clare)and P&P 2005 (Kitty)
Rosamund Pike, P&P (Jane) and Foyle's War (Sarah Beaumont)
Sam Troughton, (Same episode)Foyle's War (Policeman 2) and Robin Hood (Much)
I can be smart if I try:-)
Hey I figured out how to skip a step!!
Carey Mulligan was in Northanger Abbey with Willaim Beck who was Roy in Robin Hood!
Another scribe! Exciting. :) I enjoyed taking a peek around your blog. Keep loving life and living for Jesus!
I'm not sure I've seen enough period dramas to be able to do that, but I'll give it a shot... :)
Do you have to do it without the aid of IMDB??
Well I did it with out Imdb because I was at Tuftes. I make no rules for you however :)
