Blog? I have a blog?

My apologies to any readers who have been faithfully checking my blog to see if I had anything to reward them...sorry I don't think there's going to be anything interesting in this post either :)
Recently, It has been emphasized a little more to me that I lead a very retired life, not very exciting. I don't want to say it boring, because that would imply that it's bad or wrong or I'm bored with it, but it is quiet....I miss my sisters. They have been gone for several months now and I am really realizing how much I depended on them for 'outside' talk. I think I have a tendency to hibernate in a shell...I don't even think about coming out..Mom has to ask if I need to go out, she tells me to call my friends. We've been watching Robin Hood by the BBC. Mom says they turned Robin into a 'Superhero'. She's right :) He flies through the air (with the help of his bow and a rope), fires multiple arrows at the same time, does a back-flip off a roof and lands on his feet...you get the point. You know you read all these adventure books, you see all the movie..but how often is it that you actually have one? Not fighting exactly, but at least having to choose a course, decide between right and wrong. I've been re-reading Lord of the Rings. Did anybody know I read those? I did. And they intrigued me. The Characters did, and the choices that they were faced with and the examples of what one choice can lead to, to good or bad alike. Boy this is quite the doozy post...I leave you all for a while and come back and give you this jumble of thoughts.....if you can actually sort this out, you have my congratulations, but I'm going to leave you with one more thing. A poem that I enjoyed:

~
I sit beside the fire and think
of all that I have seen,
of meadow-flowers and butterflies
in summers that have been;
~
of Yellow and gossamer
in autumns that there were,
with morning mist and sliver sun
and wind upon my hair.
~
I sit beside the fire and think
of how the world will be
when winter comes without a spring
that I shall never see.
~
For still there are so many things
that I have never seen:
in every wood in every spring
there is a different green.
~
I sit beside the fire and think
of people long ago,
and people who will see a world
that I shall never know.
~
But all the while I sit and think
of times that were before,
I listen for returning feet
and voices at the door.

I don't check your blog everyday... you're in my google reader...

And, i have to defend Robin Hood... nothing he does is impossible or even unlikely.

And besides... the excitement is what we love about it, right???

"Nothing he does is impossible or even unlikely"

If your standards are set to RH hieght, I can't wait to meet your husband!! He's gonna be pretty much amazing...

I'm sorry!! My busyness had made you a hermit!! That's terrible! We gotta do something about this.

And Robin Hood is not a superhero. I mean, he doesn't fly, he has emotions, he gets hurt, lots of people can ride down wires like that. And as for the four arrows, he's not the only person who can do that! Will does it, maybe only 3, anyway. If you were that good with a bow, you would be able to shoot more than one at a time too. And he didn't back flip, his stunt double did. Oh, and he broke his foot during filming. And he's not the one who gets them out of all their scrapes. And I'm rambling, cause I'm tired.... I do like Robin Hood though :)

okay...calm down I LIKE Robin Hood the way he is...

Katie, you're confusing Robin Hood and What-ever-the-actor's name is in your defense...but you are forgiven cause you were tired :)

thanks EMMIE I am planning on marrying somebody pretty amazing. But, RH?!?!? is the last person on earth I would want to marry... you can't build a marriage on amazing bow and arrow techniques. My standards are actually higher.

OKAY. I can see you all need a man to weigh in on the conversation. FIRST: speaking as an archer, it is IMPOSSIBLE to shoot more than one arrow at a time with any accuracy much less . . .FOUR?!? Where did they get that from? Robin Hood, Men in Tights (tight tights!)?! It is however possible to shoot single arrows at the rate of one a second. Especially if you had been shooting since you first could walk. The American Indians were known to unleash mutiple arrows to single bullets (typically those bullets where shot by the "evil" blue coat soldiers).

As for fantastic telivision . . . that's why we watch it right? To escape from the mundanity of our lives. My personal requirement is that it just can't be far fetched. I hate spending an hour going "Oh! Come On! Give Me A Break!"

Dubs, I am so totally stoked about LOTR. I do not even remember that poem from the Fellowship, but it's those little gems that get overlooked in the Tolkein controversy. If only the opposition would READ his books.
Have you read his new book that was published last fall? The Children of Hurin. His son compiled and edited it and tried to stay as true to his father's work as possible. I can't remeber if he actually did any of the writing himself. I am thinking not.

I love when they find manuscripts that were written fifty years ago and found in the author's study or stashed in a closet or in the back of some dusty rolltop desk drawer.

I haven't read it myself, but am looking forward to it. As well as revisiting the old trails of the LOTR cicle.

luv yah

Just to clarify, Ty. Robin doesn't shoot more than 2 arrows at a time. He just holds four on his bow at the same time and shoots them off one after the other, like a arrow machine gun. Like in this picture. http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m205/twbd/RH/RH.jpg

Just wanted to clarify. I know it's impossible to do 4. But he does do 2.

I love the slideshow Debbie!!! Although some of the pistures of me are *clears throat*...

Last night Joe and I were goofing off and thgought of a slogan for RH.

"I am Super Robin, watch me draw my bow"

or

"I am Super Robin, watch me do the impossible."

I probobly like it the most just for it's impossiblity.
