The Book of Remembrance

Yesterday I was reading a book and it mentioned 'The book of Remembrance that was written before the LORD'. I'd never ever heard of that before so I checked the reference it gave. It's an interesting verse:

Mal 3:14 -16 Ye have said, It is vain to serve God:
and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance,
and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?
And now we call the proud happy;
yea, they that work wickedness are set up;
yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.
Then they that feared the LORD spoke often one to another:
and the LORD hearkened, and heard it,
and a
book of remembrance was written
before him for them that feared the LORD,
and that thought upon his name.

I'd always wondered about the Books that are mentioned in Revelation 20:11-12

Rev 20:11-12
And I saw a great white throne,
and him that sat on it,
from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away;
and there was found no place for them.

And I saw the dead, small and great,
stand before God; and the books were opened:
and another book was opened, which is the book of life:
and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books,
according to their works.

I've only known the name of one of those books, so I guess now I know another one :)
We were reading in 2nd Thessalonians and it said that it was "A righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you.' In all of the Thessalonican letters, Paul was talking to them about the tribulations that they were going through so I think it must not have been a very easy place to be a Christian, but God knew the trials and troubles that they endured and he was going to recompense the evil-doers according to their evil- and reward them for the faithfulness.
Just something I've discovered...another aspect of God's Character...
